  7. ACT 4 is a very flexible and powerful accounting package built from inception
  8. for the network field. The integrity is the best available. The package
  9. includes General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Order Entry,
  10. Purchase Order, Payroll, Inventory, Check Reconciliation and LYNX (an ASCII
  11. file converter). We have point and shoot in the code and an online editable
  12. message on each screen. The software has the following features: it allows
  13. multicompany ledgers with or without consolidation of financial report; three
  14. accounting periods; flexible numbering of chart of accounts; allows automatic
  15. posting to appropriate ledger account; up to fifteen alphanumerics in account
  16. numbers; open item or balance forward; user defines A/R codes, terms codes, and
  17. transaction codes; allows non-stock items; up to five user-defined aging
  18. periods; multicompany payrolls; password protection; user-defined tax tables;
  19. up to 200 separate discount codes; up to three different invoice formats;
  20. maintaining sales history; daily sales reports; allows 30-45 stock
  21. descriptions; supports LIFO, FIFO, weighted average or standard cost; markup or
  22. margin; allows up to four decimal places past the decimal point; and up to five
  23. different quantity break price levels.
